Kia Ora e te Whanau,

Last week, I attended the Catholic Primary Principals Conference in Wellington. The conference theme was ‘Reimagine, Renew, Rejoice’. It was a valuable experience to network with other principals and learn about wellbeing and leading change.

Today, Lola P-R will be competing at the Canterbury Primary Schools Cross Country representing our zone and school. We wish her the very best for the competition.

Last Wednesday, Sophia B competed at the Primary School Artistic Gymnastics Competition. She represented our school and competed to a high standard. In the Bronze Grade, Sophia was placed 11th overall out of 44 competitors. Well done Sophia.

During the month of May, four of our Year 6 students, Louis, Samuel M, Miller and Tanav were competing in the qualifying round for the EPro8 Challenge. Students take part in a challenge designed to promote science and engineering. Their challenge was to build a landmark to scale and then launch party poppers from the landmark. The students worked well in the time provided and received 2nd equal at the prizegiving. The students will now compete at the Semi Finals on the 28th July. Well done Louis, Samuel M, Miller and Tanav.

Parent Teacher Interviews: The Parent Teacher Interviews are planned for Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 June. Interview times will be sent home on Friday. School will finish at 2:00 pm on Tuesday 29 June to accommodate the Parent Teacher Interviews. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact me.

Please remember that if your child is unwell and not attending school please contact the office either by phone or email. The Skool Loop app also has a feature that allows you to enter your absenteeism, and the school is emailed. If parents can please let the office know of absenteeism by 9:30am.

Kind regards,

Abraham Atherton
