Kia Ora e te Whanau,

It has been great to see the students training for the upcoming cross country. The students in Room 3., 4 and 5 have been training at Malvern Park, with our Room 1 and 2 students training at school. The students will compete in the annual school cross country at Malvern Park on Wednesday 19 May at 1pm. We warmly invite our school community to attend the event to support the children with their running. At the conclusion of the event, all students will return to school for the presentation of certificates to the finalists.  The children can wear sports shoes and socks to school with either school sports uniform or school summer uniform.

Last week, the Parish sent a letter to school families regarding Attendance Dues. The Parish has emphasised that there is a lot owing to the Diocese. These are compulsory payments for education, and I encourage families to establish weekly payments to assist in reducing the amount owing.

This week the school will be sending out Statements with the yearly activity and school donation. We will send out further invoices when payments are due for swimming etc. This year we will be going to Jellie Park for Swimming Education in Term 3. The voluntary contribution assists in the payment of various events and resources at St Albans Catholic School. To effectively run the school and provide quality learning outside the classroom these voluntary
contributions are important.

On Friday 4 June, St Albans Catholic will be having a  Teachers Only Day in order for staff to participate in some professional development. We hope this gives you adequate time to make alternative arrangements. The school will also be closed on Monday 7 June due to Queen's  Birthday - public holiday.
